The comics in this collection are probably some of the best short story comics I've ever done, both in story and drawing.

The comics

When I did the first collection I thought I would maybe be able to make two or three collections a year, but I hadn't anticipated just how busy I was going to be. That said, I'm really happy with how these comics turned out despite taking a little longer than expected. Each one has a different type of story and panel structure. I wanted the comics to focus on the friendships in the stories and less on the big scenes that were more important in the comics of the first collection.

Power Glove

Power Glove tells the story of a lost glove with strange powers and how it affects those who find it and uncover its strange powers.

The idea for Power Glove came from having lost a glove myself, mine wasn't nearly as interesting as the one in the story. The story takes place over the course of a day with various characters interacting with the mysterious glove.

Mary of Mars

Mary of Mars is about the first rabbit to live on Mars and her daily struggles to make it in the harsh environment. Most of these struggles involve getting enough coffee.

Mary of Mars was inspired by Dick Bruna's character Miffy who I learned about because someone was using her as an icon on twitter. The design is changed quite a bit, mainly I was interested in having a rabbit in a red dress which led me to a monochrome comic set on mars. Initially I had planned to use watercolor for the entire thing but decided it'd be better to use digital color to keep things consistent. I had plans to make this comic longer but decided it was better left as a short story that I could return to later.

Out of The Park

Out of the Park follows an adventurer tracking a massive mysterious bird who regularly passes over the park where our hero lives.

This comic was a lot of fun to draw and color, set entirely in an imagined area that was modeled after my memories of campsites. This comic was started more or less from the idea of a large bird flying though the sky and was written page by page until I had an idea of all the things that would take place. The various greens in the trees and grass are probably my favorite part, because I knew I was going to make this a digital comic I was able to use the full range of color available in RGB color.
