This collection came about because I had a number of medium length comics that I had finished but hadn't published either online or in print.

The comics

These comics were all comics that I had finished but hadn't figured out how to publish, I thought they worked better digitally than they would in print since they rely on color, but I didn't want to post them online for free since they took a good deal of work to create. I think that this was the first I had heard of Gumroad which I had heard was good at handling digital publications so I decided to give it a try. The comics are each fairly different from each other, I had been trying different techniques for drawing comics.

Cauldron Cream

Cauldron Cream is about a mouse wizard who makes a horrible mistake while trying to make some tasty ice cream.

This comic was mostly drawn as a way to experiment with using only pencils to create a comic, but I thought the story was interesting too, a blend of suspense and humor that I like to play with. The pencil work in this comic was the experiment that led to the way my longer comic Feles was drawn.

Blowing Bubbles

Blowing Bubbles is a short wordless comic about just what the title says.

This comic is entirely wordless full page panels, something I've tried only once before. There isn't too much of a story since it's so short, I was instead interested in experimenting with using halftones which I've used more and more in comics because of the interesting texture and color they provide.

Thunder

Thunder tells the story of a desert wolf investigating an ominous thunderous noise coming from the desert.

Thunder is the most ambitious comic in the collection at 38 full color pages, it was the longest color comic I had done at the time. I believe the inital idea for this comic was simply having a wolf in a desert and the strange sound, from there I just had them move through the desert and thought up different things that they would encounter, which is an approach I really enjoy and I think results in interesting comics.
